KeffiRooms Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and KeffiRooms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform. Continued use after we update these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised version.

2. Who May Use KeffiRooms

• Student Seekers — individuals looking for accommodation near Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), including enrolled students and prospective tenants.
• Agents — property owners, landlords, caretakers, or authorised representatives who list student housing and are manually approved by KeffiRooms admin.
• Guests — may browse public listings without an account, subject to limited features and these Terms.

You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter contracts under Nigerian law. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide.

3. Nature of the Platform

KeffiRooms is a listing and coordination platform, not a landlord, estate agent, insurer, or guarantor. We:

• Display property listings submitted by approved agents.
• Facilitate introductions between verified seekers and agents through admin-coordinated WhatsApp communication.
• Apply trust checks, listing review, and fraud-prevention measures.

We do not own listed properties, collect rent on behalf of landlords, or guarantee that any listing will result in a tenancy. All rental agreements are strictly between the seeker and the property owner or agent.

4. Account Registration & Security

• You must provide accurate name, email, and (where required) a valid Nigerian mobile number.
• Agents must register with an active WhatsApp number and may optionally add a recovery phone for login.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
• Notify KeffiRooms immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a fraud risk.

5. Agent Listings & Accuracy

Agents warrant that listing information — including price, location, photos, amenities, and availability — is truthful and current. Agents must not:

• Post fake, duplicate, or misleading listings.
• Use photos that do not represent the actual property.
• List properties they are not authorised to advertise.
• Demand payment before a seeker has viewed the property and KeffiRooms has confirmed the connection.

KeffiRooms reserves the right to reject, edit, unlist, or remove any listing without prior notice if it breaches these Terms or our trust standards.

6. Seeker Conduct & Connections

• Seekers may contact agents only through KeffiRooms-coordinated channels unless admin explicitly permits otherwise.
• Provide honest contact details when requesting a viewing or connection.
• Do not harass agents, submit false reports, or attempt to bypass KeffiRooms coordination to avoid platform fees after a successful introduction.
• After a property visit, you may be asked to confirm satisfaction and leave a review to help protect other students.

7. Coordination Fees & Payments

• Seeker coordination fee: ₦2,000 per confirmed connection.
• Agent coordination fee: ₦5,000 per confirmed connection.
• Total platform fee per connection: ₦7,000.

Fees cover identity verification, trust checks, and secure WhatsApp coordination. Never pay rent, deposits, or agent fees directly without KeffiRooms admin confirmation. KeffiRooms is not liable for payments made outside our verified process.

Rent, agency charges, caution deposits, and utility costs are separate matters between seeker and landlord and are not collected by KeffiRooms unless explicitly stated.

8. Data Sharing & Privacy

By using KeffiRooms you consent to the following data practices:

• Seeker contact details (name, phone, email) are shared with KeffiRooms admin to coordinate introductions — not directly with agents until admin verification is complete.
• Listing data (title, area, price, amenities, photos) is displayed to seekers. GPS and sensitive photo metadata are stripped from public views where applicable.
• Agent information is shown to seekers only after admin approval and verification.
• We may use your data to send account emails (e.g. password reset OTP), fraud alerts, and service notifications.
• We do not sell personal data to third parties for marketing.

We retain account and transaction records as needed for legal compliance, dispute resolution, and platform safety.

9. Anti-Fraud & Trust Protocol

• All agents undergo manual admin approval before listing.
• Listings may be verified using photo review and trust scoring.
• Users who attempt scams, impersonation, or off-platform fee evasion may be permanently banned and reported to relevant authorities.
• KeffiRooms may cooperate with law enforcement where required by Nigerian law.

10. Reviews & User Content

Reviews, messages, and listing content you submit must be honest and lawful. You grant KeffiRooms a non-exclusive licence to display, moderate, and remove such content on the platform. We may remove content that is abusive, defamatory, or misleading without notice.

11. Intellectual Property

The KeffiRooms name, logo, interface design, and platform code are owned by KeffiRooms Inc. You may not copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell platform data or branding without written permission. Listing photos remain the property of their uploaders; agents confirm they have rights to publish them.

12. Disclaimers

The platform is provided “as is” to the fullest extent permitted by law. KeffiRooms does not warrant that:

• Any listing is available, safe, or suitable for your needs.
• Agents will honour verbal or written promises outside verified platform communication.
• The service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

You inspect properties at your own risk and should exercise reasonable caution before entering any tenancy agreement.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted under Nigerian law, KeffiRooms and its operators, staff, and partners shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform, property visits, tenancy disputes, or payments made outside our coordination process.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the platform shall not exceed the coordination fees you paid to KeffiRooms in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

14. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms, engage in fraud, or harm other users. You may stop using the platform at any time. Provisions that by nature should survive termination (fees owed, liability limits, governing law) will remain in effect.

15. Dispute Resolution

Parties agree to first attempt informal resolution by contacting KeffiRooms support. Unresolved disputes shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Courts in Nasarawa State shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction unless mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect legal, operational, or product changes. Material updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
